Hall of fame trainer Lee Francois has been passionate about cutting horses his entire life, showing his first cutter in the youth class at age 10. After high school he worked with world class trainer and showman, Kobie Wood, then branched out on his own.
In 1998 he met his wife Holly. They purchased land from Holly's parents, and constructed their state of the art barn, office, covered arena, and cattle facilities.
Lee's NCHA earnings approach $2,900,000. His championships include the NCHA open super stakes, NCHA open super stakes classic, reserve champion of the NCHA open Futurity, and multiple open finals at the NCHA Futurity.
He finds his strength from his faith in God. He enjoys teaching at the Horsemen for Christ bible school each summer and is a frequent guest preacher at Horsemen for Christ throughout the year.
In addition to his devotion to his wife Holly, he is the proud father of Jonathan and Sydney.
Holly grew up in Dallas, Texas with passions for dance and her dad's prized pure blood Pinzgauer herd and show cow operation. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in psychology from the University of St Thomas in Houston, Texas.
She and her sister went to look at a cutting horse one afternoon, and were introduced to the handsome resident trainer. Soon after, Lee and cutting horses became her life focus.
Holly is responsible for all aspects of the business, other than the training. Her responsibilities include horse care, health management, and all the myriad day to day details of their business. Anyone that knows this couple will verify that Lee couldn't achieve his success without Holly's attention to detail.
Holly is a successful non pro exhibitor, with NCHA earnings approaching $90,000 dollars.
Chances are strong that one might meet Sydney before meeting Lee or Holly. To say this young lady is gregarious and personal is an understatement. She travels to as many major shows as school work allows. She is already a successful youth exhibitor, and hopes to expand to more limited aged events in the coming years.
Sydney is a past reserve champion Jr youth, and was among the top ten finalists in her first year as a senior youth. In addition to her love of all animals, she is an accomplished basketball player, vocalist with her school choir, and is active in her church.
